The product developers spent 2 years developing the top product with input from the well-known enduro athletes of the Rocky Mountain, Remi Gauvin, Andreane Lanthier Nadeau and Jesse Melamed. It consists of a tried and tested, lightweight construction made by means of mold construction, including a complete covering made of Koroyd, in order to guarantee an integrated skeleton structure and comprehensive protection including ventilation. The additional multidirectional shock protection system (MIPS) on the inner lining reduces the rotational forces that the brain is exposed to during oblique impacts against the head. Smith helmets are designed to efficiently absorb direct impacts. In combination with the MIPS, the inner lining is separated from the head by a sliding surface with low friction, thanks to which the head can slide during the impact. This reduces brain trauma.
